I have 2 rabbit hutches and my 6 misc chickens free range all day and go into the hutches at sundown. I lock them in at night... they move around between the two. Most times it's 3 and 3 but sometimes 4 and 2. I'm in so calif so in winter all 6 roost in the larger of the hutches.
I'm laughing so hard! The headline instantly reminded me (I'm 73) of my grandmother's rooster constantly chasing and attacking my older sister (about age 7)... LOL, we had fried chicken for dinner... end of problem... poor rooster...
all organic foods: no soy, no corn: crumble, laying pellets, scratch from several different US suppliers, oatmeal, flaxseeds, meal worms, krill, apples, watermelon in season, free range stuff, green plants, misc. salad stuff... etc
I have hav-a-heart traps and I kinda hold my own. I bring the critters down to a sewer drainage area that goes directly to the LA River, by a golf course... after I set them free, they are on their own to become fodder for the winged ones.
when i taught science and wasps came around the outdoor lunch tables, I had all the kids put a tiny bit of their lunch into a place on the table as a gift to the wasps s. They loved watching the wasps eat the meats and fruits while, they - the kids - ate their lunches too... No one got hurt...
WHEN my EE says twin yokes the shell is very large. Maybe you have more than twins. I blow out the yokes like at Easter Time and save the larger shells.
I put a sign in my front yard with the words FRESH, ORGANIC EGGS and a little box with my business cards (i'm an artist). They call or text for a pick up. I ask them to bring a basket or carton. Lots leave me cartons by my front gate. Some even call when the sign is not out. And I do the same...
