I have 2 rabbit hutches and my 6 misc chickens free range all day and go into the hutches at sundown. I lock them in at night... they move around between the two. Most times it's 3 and 3 but sometimes 4 and 2. I'm in so calif so in winter all 6 roost in the larger of the hutches.
I'm laughing so hard! The headline instantly reminded me (I'm 73) of my grandmother's rooster constantly chasing and attacking my older sister (about age 7)... LOL, we had fried chicken for dinner... end of problem... poor rooster...
all organic foods: no soy, no corn: crumble, laying pellets, scratch from several different US suppliers, oatmeal, flaxseeds, meal worms, krill, apples, watermelon in season, free range stuff, green plants, misc. salad stuff... etc
I have hav-a-heart traps and I kinda hold my own. I bring the critters down to a sewer drainage area that goes directly to the LA River, by a golf course... after I set them free, they are on their own to become fodder for the winged ones.
when i taught science and wasps came around the outdoor lunch tables, I had all the kids put a tiny bit of their lunch into a place on the table as a gift to the wasps s. They loved watching the wasps eat the meats and fruits while, they - the kids - ate their lunches too... No one got hurt...

all the eggs were placed under her at the same time however they may have all been lain at different times so their internal development was probably different. As they have only been laid on at night, I suppose they are all dead.
WONDERING WHY - I put 6 misc breeds of fertile eggs under my broody silkie. After the first chick hatched, she was off the nest and the little one has been following her around since. My poor other possible babies. I'd like to see how far they developed but then I'm also so said I also don't...
I put, hard to get, 6 fertile eggs under my broody silkie... after the first one hatched she stayed on the clutch for 3 days and then left them forever. I couldn't get her back on them and none of my other hens wanted them either... I heart is so said cause I really wanted the different breeds...
so you allowed a cat access to your chicken coop... why didn't you make a box into a hospital container for the bird instead of giving the injured thing freedom to a whole coop. I doctor injured, and even do minor surgery on birds... they need a small, dark, warm place to recover... not a...
