    6 week old chicks. What gender?

    I have some 6 week old chicks that are questionable in their gender. They are half buff brahma, 1/4 orphington and 1/8 jersey giant and 1/8 easter egger. One has white legs and is bigger than its sibling. One has yellow legs. I threw in a pick of their parents.

    Do I have an olive egger? I have two hens I raised half some kind of easter egger half new jersey giant. They both started laying. I can tell their eggs apart. My gray hen lays the lighter green. My black hen lays the slightly darker green.

    This is my year old buckeye. This pic is from this last spring. This is a picture of her this morning. Now she is molting. But she grew spurs, her tail feathers are curling and her comb changed. Here is a pic I found on the internet of a hen and cock buckeye.

    She is 7 weeks now. The grey one in front is the other. Maybe is a roo. The dark cornish hen is their adopted mom. She was broody and hatched them.

    Check the tail feathers. If they all lay the same length. Its a hen. If they are all different lengths most likely a roo.

    On old willets path in Hauppauge there is a feed supply store. In the same parking lot as Roadway Tires. They have bedding, feed, scratch, and cracked corn in bulk.

    Update! Sandora is def at hen. At 19 weeks she laid two eggs in one day. Both were a bit odd. One had no yolk and the other, well she did not know I suppose what happened. Because she laid on her roost, it got smashed. woops. 5 days later she laid another egg in her nesting box. Beautiful...
