I left 2 50lb bags of feed outside in the pickup overnight and it rained.
My partner took the pickup to work, and he said he turned them over and had them in a dry part of the bed.
The bags were in the bed for approximately 18 hours after being rained on.
He brought them home not too long...
I come with good news! Saturday night I pushed it back in her and since then, she has kept it in! I have kept her isolated just to make sure she keeps it in. When will it be safe to return her to the flock? The weather is going to be very fair aside from Friday evening when it drops to negatives.
Yes! She poops just fine, actually passed a good solid one while I was cleaning her earlier today. Tonight I will take some local raw honey and use it on her after I clean her up, and then feed her a calcium tablet. She is in a nice, quiet, dark space in the garage.
Not sure if it means...
Thank you bunches! I ended up heading to work so I did the water thing, probably not very effective. However, I did manage to pick these up:
They're not quite the Calcium Citrate, but will either of these work?
All right! I have my update for the day. I went to work this morning and spaced off seeing if the Dollar General had some calcium (I am from a very, VERY remote area haha). Luckily I do have some Tums on hand I can use before I got back to work this evening. Do I just crush one up and mix in...
THANK YOU. Where would be the best place to get those calcium tablets? Would it just be a regular supplement that a human would take? If not, can I make do with some eggshells?
CAUTION: GRAPHIC IMAGERY
Long story short, I went out to the coop just to double check that everything was shut tightly, as the windchill was forecast to be -30° windchill. I come inside and happen to see this poor hen with her innards sticking out, alongside some frozen liquid droppings -...
She's still alive today! Very small but she eats and drinks and poops a lot. Her poop seems be kind of green most of the time?
They were much closer in size then compared to now, but there was still a difference. I emailed the place they came from asking for a hatch date (because idk, I like to...
The picture of them on my hand is the very first day I got them and the picture of them in the brooder is one I just took. Okay, maybe not QUITE double her size but enough to definitely raise an eyebrow. She was noticeably smaller when they arrived.
Baby seems to be getting much better. Still sleeps spread out like a corpse and likes to give me heart attacks.
I've changed both chicks' bedding to fluffy towels, in case the pine bedding was causing some of the wheezing. Halved the dose of Corid (I did .75 tsp for a half gallon) and I've been...
The vet ended up having Corid! She has been under the watchful eye of a friend who has been chicken sitting her today because I have had work the entire day. I will start getting her the Corid as soon as I get home!!!
