Do you have to trim the beak?

He has a bedding mixed with shavings and then a big piece of driftwood he loves to sit on. I put grit and seeds in the driftwood sometimes for variety in feeding.

Do you have to trim the beak?

He Ian 3 yrs old or older and lives alone. He has no problem eating. I tried a cuddle bone on the cage and he has no interest. Doesn’t nature take care of it?

    Adoptive quail momma

He is a button I think. Gray with a red belly and a little white around his neck. My son had two and then one passed. He had to give this fellow up due to a new roommate. He’s probably 3 years or older. I worry about him being lonely, but he eats and sings. Loves fruit and cucumbers too! I...

Thanks for the opportunity to ask questions and get answers. I only have the one little guy. I am not interested in anymore. I just want to make sure he lives the best life I can provide.

    Homemade Quail Beak trimmer ideas?

I have just one male button quail. His top beak is curved down. But it hasn’t impacted his eating. He is over 3 years and has been alone for the last 10 months. Do I have to trim it? Does nature not take care of this?

Single button quail seems happy I just want to be sure.

Oh no. I have no idea how to do that. I’ve never held the little guy. Maybe I should take him to a vet?

Single button quail seems happy I just want to be sure.

My button male has a long top beak. He is approximately 3 years old. I’ve placed a cuddle bone on the side of his cage but he has no interest. Is there anything else I can offer that he may use to wear down his beak. It does not appear to hamper his eating at this time.

That was my fear when I considered finding a button raiser that might take in a new guy. I didn’t want him to get hurt. I listen to him and repeat his sound. We go back and forth. I’m worried that he may be looking for a friend and I’m just mocking him. I am kind of curious as to life span. He...

I have 😊. I’m always over thinking, but if he started pecking it I was worried about it being dangerous. I considered a feather duster and maybe a potted herb. I just didn’t want to make him more lonely by adding something that doesn’t respond. I was thinking maybe recorded quail calls? Or just...

My button quail approximately 3years old has been alone for over 10 months and in a new place. My son had two and one passed, then a new roommate resulted in giving up the bird. I took him to live out his time. He sings, chirps, and calls. He loves cucumbers, strawberries and grapes. He has two...
