Unfortunately not. I can't have roosters in city limits. These are the babies from the eggs I ordered. It it either a svarthona or a fibrorudd. I wish I could get some babies from her. She is so unique looking
Looks like they hatched last night or this morning. One failed to make it out of the egg, two others didn't pip. Went into the pen and looked around found two babies that had gotten lost. Put them back with mama Weirdo.
Haven't kept up with the thread, sorry. I candled last week after two eggs went bad (1 zombie, 1 fibrorudd) and two of the mosaics didn't develop, as well as the cracked svarthona died. The rest seem to be doing well. I have a hen who went broody so I put the eggs under her so she can raise...
I took out all the other eggs from under her and replaced them with the eggs that should hatch day after tomorrow. 🤞 She growled and gave me some good pecks when putting the new eggs in.
I've been incubating some eggs and they are due to hatch in a few days. My silkie mix has gone broody all of a sudden. I had the idea of putting my incubator eggs under her and letting her raise the chicks. What are the odds that she would accept them?
Haven't been here in a few days and had to catch up on the thread. I spot candled a few of my eggs Friday afternoon, just to see if I could see anything developing. Definitely saw veins on the cracked one, but my mosaics don't appear to be developing. I'll give it a few more days before checking...
Nope, it rocks side to side. I probably wouldn't risk it in a roller incubator. Definitely plan on keeping a close eye on it. Thinking about putting some skin glue on there to help hold it together
Got my eggs in today. Several were broken, just absolutely smashed. Most made it just fine though. I do have this Svarthona egg that is cracked, but the membrane is intact. I think I'm going to try incubating it.
