If they are fresh eggs that are collected daily then no it's not your fault. Blood spots can happen in unfertile eggs as well. But if the eggs were allowed to sit outside for more than a day I would say...gross!

Did he get life without parole or trying for that? If that is the case then they probally seen no need to try him on other changes as it would waste taxpayers money on someone who will never get out anyway.

Most of them make money. Show breeder use the money to show because it's a hobby for them.
