    Aggressive female runner

My ducks have been chaotic of late but I guess it is because two girls are sitting on eggs. When it is feed time, one girl comes off the eggs and starts creating; all the ducks follow suit; its hectic in the pen!

Runner Duck is acting weird and I'm worried. Is this normal?

Yes, only one drake ... I've learned that drakes are so virile that they need at least 3 to 1 ... the more females to drake the better

Yes, separating the ducks is a good idea. I have recently found a problem with ducks wanting to hump my hens, and they are now temporarily separated in the large pen. Soon we will make them their own shelter and pen. Apparently it is dangerous for drakes to hump hens!

UPDATE: SHE IS SICK!! SUGGESTIONS? UPDATE: Is there a chance a production breed will never produce an egg? see pics of our girl

This gives me a great idea of what to do with our small duck pond which we make inside the pen. It is too difficult to empty and the water gets really green (nasty). We decided to empty it completely and to build a channel so that rainwater does not fill it up again. Then we will fill it with...

    Sudden decline/death in hen, causes?

Thank you for sharing ... amazing, who'da thunk'd that hens could eat too many beetles; good to know though

    PEAHENS PROLAPSE AND SUDDEN DEATH

Dear Debbie, Your response makes the most sense so far. My nitial thought was that because she "peed" quite heavily on my lap (she was blanketed and I held her all the way home), this was pre-existing. I then accepted the explanation from the seller, that "a prolapse occurs quickly and due to...
