    I have heard that Man is always a hard one to get rid of. Someone around here lost their whole flock after someone used wirecutters to get into the coop and put some neighborhood dogs in with the hens while they were sleeping.

    I say kill then raccoons. Keep the tails and hang them on the side of your coop as a counter and warning against other unwelcome vermin.

    We have good ventilation, we have small screens at the top of the coop made from some industrial strength steel wire mesh that I got at a garage sale for $5. No stupid raccoon's gunna get in my coop.
