    Mystery Pullet

The chicken equivalent of a fill-in-the-blank doodle. She's tall compared to the other pullets of the same age, and one of the more reserved.

Definitely no crest. I'll get a better photo of her comb tomorrow.

The coloring is similar, but she doesn't have enough toes to be a Dorking.

I'd appreciate your help. I over-chickened this spring, and I lost my breed list. I've identified everyone except this girl. She is roughly 12 weeks old and was purchased at North 40 in Great Falls, MT. I know Hoover Hatchery is one of their suppliers. Thoughts?

    Mystery Chick Mistake :)

Thank you. I wish he could stay, but I can't keep him in my neighborhood. Fortunately, I've found a farm that will take him.

Official BYC Poll: How Do You Keep Your Coop Smelling Fresh?

In addition to ventilation, keeping things dry, cleaning, etc... I also scatter dried organic rose petals in the coop from time to time. They spend most of their time ranging, so that helps.

Thank you for the information. So, EE are the "doodles" of the chicken world 😉? Since she is an egg-laying pet, being a mix isn't a negative for me. I'll be interested to see what color eggs she produces.

    Mystery Chick Mistake :)

This one. She is much larger now, the chicks are from McMurray Hatchery. She has muffs and a beard. I'm still a little confused about the difference between Easter Eggers and Ameraurcanas, but McMurray calls them Ameraucanas. Her name is Endora.
