I have no advice, because my roosters JUST crowed at me today...3 of them I was on here searching for "what to do with them" and found this thread. I am sorry. I *know* it isn't "murder" also but I feel the same as you. I am going to have my friends hubby do it. You stated that 8 are...
Thanks!
I just read the "treat list" posted here. I would have never thought to feed them yogurt! Going to try it tomorrow. I didn't see buckwheat listed. Is that okay? My youngest eats buckwheat, rice and quinoa...so I would love to feed those if they are safe to the chickens. He can have...
Hi,
I am still a novice when it comes to my chicks. We started out last March with 4 babies. 2 died, 2 lived until this past Feb when a coyote got them. We have had 5 more since that have died (well 4 one was 1 roo to many and we gave him away!) We are now on our second set of babies...they...
Thanks! So far there are 3 EE and 2 black ones? Not sure what they are? The Rooster was a Plymouth Rock, and the Mom was a Production chicken. I have never seen black baby chicks before!
Well that stinks that feed stores do that! My hubby brought them home to us and we had no clue what they were. We have a Plumoth Rock rooster so it will be interesting what they turn out like and end up laying! We had one that looks like a production chicken also. But her babies were black...
Hi,
We had a beautiful chicken with green feet. She laid light green eggs, she was eaten by a coyote about 3 wks ago. We incubated her eggs she was sitting on, but we don't know what kind of chicken she was! Can anyone here tell me? Thank you!
We have newly hatched babies...one is completely out of its shell. It is still damp so in the incubator. It was moving around a ton but now is kind of just squatting there. Is it safe to put a tiny dish (like a jar lid) of water in there? Or should I just move it to the brooder? I am...
Thanks!
So how does the baby get unattached from the shell? It is dragging it around right now. Does the cord just dry up and break off? We have no grown girls right now to help. There mama's are gone.
In the end of Feb I posted that our favorite girls were eaten by coyotes. I bought a Hovabator and we put their 3 eggs in they had been sitting on. I really didn't think they would hatch, but this morning 1 of each is HATCHING!!!!!!!!
I am SO excited I am crying
What now?
I read to...
that describes our yard...piles of feathers across the back 1/2 - to 1 acre. Feet, head and guts in along with one wing in a different area. But it was still ALL in our fenced area. The other one was gone...not a sign of her at all. Like she didn't exist. May it was to hungry to take and...
