Anyone else experienced this? My little rooster, now 18 weeks is reaching maturity, and showing signs of being ready to mate. He has not chosen a hen...but has seemed to be showing interest in me?!?! It's kinda cute, he drops his wing and dances around me, chases other hens and roosters away...
. Rex is doing great! Rex is a hen, Rex is a hen!!! I can tell by the coloring. She's a Silver Pencil Laced Plymouth Rock Bantam. (What a mouth full for such a small chicken!). She is smaller than our other one, wondering if she will catch up or just be a little. We love her!
So my mom knew I wanted to add a Speckled Sussex to my flock. She picked up this "Pullet" for me from the feed store. It chest bumps, and looks like Spurs are beginning to grow. Chick is 3 weeks old. Any thoughts??
Our incubator spiked day 12 to 106. I'm thinking that it may have had something to do with it. :-/ They're also Isbars, which I hear are difficult to hatch.
One pipped egg, and the chick died during hatching. We watched it take its last breath. :-( Humidty is at 62%, temp at 98.5. We've lost 5 out of 7!! :-(
I think 2 of my eggs set to hatch on Easter have died. :-( However, I set 2 out 3 days later and they're rocking! Is it normal for eggs to be rocking this early?? It's day 15...
