I have to finish St. Patricks day cards first. A few ladies and I get together at the local church for a few hours on the second friday evening of the month and craft. We have a potluck. My SIL and I will usually work on our cards and then some scrappin. Some ladies just come to read in peace...

I haven't been there. Would this be the one I see mentioned every now and then in the buy and sell? I haven't convinced hubby yet to take me. He isn't convinved that I won't come home with more kids. Is it just selling chickens? What all goes on down there?
Out of my four girls I have one who has blood spots in her eggs. Not a few spots but many, like ten or more. I posted with questions about the cause and everyone seems to think she needs more vitamins. Cause being blood vessels rupturing in the ovary or oviduct as the yolk passes. I can't help...

Yes you can train them to use the doggie door. We put our opening for the chickens up high and the trained them to go up and down on ramps on each side of the opening. Every other week we would lower the ramps about 8 inches so they would have to jump a little higher each time. After a...

I did and everyone seemed to think she needs more vit a or k. I then posted asking how to add it. Now I'm waiting on that one. Silly me I thought everything she needed was in her pellets, corn, house scraps and the property. Oh well, we live and learn. Now I just need to know how to get...
I have a question on your mead. How long does it take to make? We just planted a bunch of berries and the honey bees will be arriving soon and hubbys plan is to make mead. He already make a little wine. Red wine.
Hello from San Andreas. I'm in the foothills, about one and a half hours southeast of sacramento. Closest major road would be Hwys 49 or 88. Anyone else up this way?
My husband and I decided to get chickens instead of paying the clark people about ten years ago. We got tired of the stink and how ucky we felt after they had been and sprayed. I have always had problem free chickies until now. We have four right now. Three were newly acquired a few months back...
I believe I need to do this for one of my chickens. Right now she gets laying pellets with a little cracked corn thrown in and all the household scraps. She is also running free and wild on our acreage during the day. Since I have never had a problem chicken before this is puzzling for me. Our...
Thank you gritsar - I bookmarked that page and signed up for newsletter. I checked the site for other things also. Now I am off to read the posts about feeding foods so I can learn about more vit k & a so I can get her something better to try to eat.
The bloody spots are the reason I found this site. I have four girls. Three are newly acquired girls, about a month and a half ago. We don't know how old they are. Each day we get two/three eggs, sometimes four. I don't even eat them I give them away, I just coldn't resist the furried creatures...
