well the one young chantie didn't make it. So I lost all 4 of the potential roosters in my white flock to the Raccoon attack. So if anyone is close to Missouri and has a good White rooster I am looking for one. Thanks all help is appreciated.
With 20 plus new chicks needing out of the house my good wife said it was time to build a new coop and run,
so here is what I built.
I started with a 4x4 frame 2x4 sheeted with 3/4 OSB
I then cut 4x4 corner posts and 2x2 backing boards screwed to the 4x4 posts

I just love my birds and get great pleasure watching them be chickens...I plan to keep my two pure lines of Whites and Partridge but I do enjoy my farm flock of mutts too. I think I have a bunch of barred Chanties in the mutt flock so I am going to keep playing with them just for fun.
I went to the hatchery the other day to grab 3 Chantecler chicks when I was there I picked up 2 Cuckoo Marans the eggs are going to be coo to have in the flock. How do these birds get along with others?
I always remove the chick as soon as they are dry and have never had any problems with the remaining eggs hatching. I just do it fast and watch the humidity.

3 have hatched and 6-7 are pipped so far things are going well, I never took the eggs out of the tray the chicks are getting out of them without any problems. I love watching them zip around the egg and getting out.
