New update with miss Marcy, her prolapse has stayed in past 24/hrs even with her pooping so I’m extremely happy about her prolapse progress, her crop feels small and seems to be emptying, so again, very happy.
The only issue we’re...
I do, I have some amoxicillin 250mg that was stored in the fridge !
The only problem is that it expired in 2021…
I know some people still use medicines past the expiration date but I’m not sure if that okay to do so in a situation like this ?
I could always pick up a fresh bottle if you...

I did try the sling about a day ago and it still wanted to pop out but maybe it was because the tissue was to swollen, I’m trying the sling again tonight now that the tissue looks less swollen, fingers crossed it helps the prolapse stay...

Yes, yesterday and today I’ve been applying triple antibiotic ointment, honey, and preparation h multiple times a day
yesterday I had only applied it once (triple antibiotic ointment and honey) before bed as I had discovered the problem in the evening around 6-7pm
Hi everyone I have a bit of emergency and could use some advice !
I have a nearly 4 year old Cochin chicken with what appears to be a prolapse vent from laying an egg that was to large (look at picture below for egg) for her.
Note this is her first egg after going through a molt
Two days ago...
I think you’re right about what she’s crossed with, because I think I remember the lady mentioning golden lace.
Seriously it really does, especially when she was younger, her crown looked more pointed then rounded giving her that rocker hair style the polish males are know for.
I didn’t see this post until now, but rest assure, I put the eggs aside until I could ask the vet if the eggs were safe to eat, and they told me the same thing to wait. But thank you for posting! Because before I asked the vet I was unsure if they were safe tbh.
Update post: while cleaning her feet today, and getting the dirt off, I noticed the old (healthily) scabs must of fallen off in the last few days, and now she has fresh healthy skin where the scabs used to be Yaaaaay! I think it’s safe to say we beat the bumblefoot!
But now there’s a tiny...
I really should have realized sooner, with how many eggs we would get.
Some days I would get three eggs in one day, I assumed my Cochin (she lays white eggs too) was a hard working lady, and was laying two eggs some days. I read that Cochins only lay 2-3 eggs a week, but I just thought she was...
