    hen with growth on beak

Thanks for the advice everyone. I’ll try to work on this tomorrow. I confess I didn’t think about needing to trim the beak but clearly you’re right about that 😬

    hen with growth on beak

I did wipe it off after I took this photo it does not look much different.. This is not crusted food. I may be able to take another photo later, as I said I looked in her mouth and I think it looks fine.

    hen with growth on beak

Hello there! I have an almost 6 year old jubilee orpington, I noticed this growth on her beak a week or so ago. It has probably been there for awhile, but I didn't notice over the winter. It seems to be soft tissue, but feels firm, no drainage. (it has a little crusted feed on it in the photo)...

    Bumblefoot or frostbite.

Hi, I was wondering how your hen is doing. I have one with a similar problem- she had cold damage to her foot in January and now I notice the end of her toe is coming off. I don't want to mess with it, I figure it will take care of itself. She is acting ok, she still favors that foot a little...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Oh, thank you for that advice, wouldn't want to make that mistake, definitely! Well, the coop itself has enough room for several chickens, the run is a little small though. Hmm, will definitely have to think about that then, I'm sure we could fix the run to make it big enough for a couple of...

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

He is a cuckoo Maran. We are not looking to breed though, but interested in the eggs. But really my daughter is concerned he will be too lonely and she wants him to find his soulmate.

Looking for a pullet in the Indianapolis/Noblesville area, any breed. We just sent our rooster to my father in law's farm and we don't want him to be lonely, lol.

    hello from IN

Hi, I'm new to chickens. Just got 6 chicks- barred rock, blue ameracauna, jubilee orpington, gold laced polish, easter egger and cuckoo maran. I have triplet girls that are 12 and we all have fallen in love with these chicks. The barred rock is 3 weeks older but she seems to be doing fine with...
