    Oxine and Bumblefoot

Antibiotics... (controversial topic). I am giving her enrofloxacin orally. I have also given her a couple of Tylan injections, although I realize it isn't the best choice for bumblefoot, it was the only injectable med I have on hand.

    Oxine and Bumblefoot

I did clean my coops and spray/fog them with an activated oxine solution. I also mixed a 50 ppm non-activated oxine solution in a small spray bottle, and I am using it as an irrigant/cleanser when I change my bumblefoot dressings (in addition to Vetericyn.) I am dressing the open wounds with...

    Oxine and Bumblefoot

I have discovered that 9 (of my 50+) adult hens have bumblefoot. None appear severe, but I am in the process of treating them. I am wondering if anyone has used Oxine for a soak or wound spray, and if so, what concentration did you use? Activated or not? As a side note, I battled bumblefoot...

    BCM with odd colored eyes

I have a French BCM hen I hatched from eggs I bought last year. Her eyes are a very odd color, almost like a white/gray. All of her hatch mates have golden-amber colored eyes. Is this a normal variation? She has normal vision as far as I can tell! (She is a touch-me-not and did not want her...

BLRW - Do I have a pullet and a cockerel?

Blue (Splash) laced red wyandottes! These guys are about 16-17 weeks old. They got off to a slow start due to illness, so I think they are developmentally a little delayed. I’m thinking from the feather pattern and the difference in comb/wattles that I have one pullet and one cockerel. Can...

    Chick with crooked neck

I was squeezing a whole capsule on the scrambled eggs initially. Lately I've just been adding the selenium/vit e gel to the eggs instead. Maybe I will try going back to just the vit e since I've read that you can overdose on selenium...?

    Chick with crooked neck

I've been giving scrambled eggs with the livestock gel which has vitamin e and selenium in it. I was using Nutri Drench and regular vitamin e capsules squeezed into the eggs before I got the gel.

    Chick with crooked neck

Yes! This one does not act like the cases of wry neck I've dealt with before, so I'm stumped! I've been giving him vitamins for almost 2 months and nothing has changed. He hates me for massaging his neck and giving him vitamins lol, but he still walks humped over and keeps his head to the...

    Chick with crooked neck

Yes, he has a great appetite and has no problem eating, drinking or doing any of the other things chickens normally do. His neck just crooks over to the right side, and he walks funny, like maybe his right leg is weak.
