Thank you! Honestly every time I've let them be together I'm either holding the babies or holding the older chick! I'm too nervous to let them be together yet, the babies can't defend themselves! lol

Does anyone have tips and tricks to help introduce our new flock of baby chicks to our current flock? Our current flock consists of only one chicken as the rest were killed by a fox, we believe. But the last time we introduced babies it didn't go so well, so we definitely need some advice...

We've been out of town for a few days and let our chickens free range during the day and had someone close them up at night. Yesterday a few hours before we returned home we found out from my mom who was watching our dog, that all the chickens had been killed. Must have occurred sometime...

My chicken broke her wing and I've got her taped up with vet tape. Any ideas as to how long she'll need to stay this way until it's healed? And should I continue keeping her away from the other chickens? Thank you!

I agree, that's what we can't understand. We looked again tonight for any signs of anything entering and can't find a thing. Plus they are up off the ground so not sure what could get up in there. Here's a photo of their coop.

Thank you! I'm honestly not sure what kind of de-wormer it was. It didn't say on the bag. And she only gave it to her because she wasn't sure why she was having diarrhea, which ended up clearing up a couple hours after our trip to the vet anyway. Should I be concerned about the chicken with...

Also the vet had us give de-wormer to the chicken with the wound. She said not to eat her eggs through the remainder of the year because she wasn't sure how long the medication would be in her system. Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, we have had the orpingtons for 4 years today and introduced the giants to the coop about 2 years ago. It was a very hard transition but they've seemed to be doing ok.
