Whats wrong with my duck??
Yes, he is by himself but I have him out with me often and he acts just fine outside of the brooder. Thank you for the suggestion, I will try putting the brooder a little higher! :) -
Whats wrong with my duck??
I have a Pekin duck and he is about 8 weeks old still being kept in the house in the brooder. When I reach down to refill his food and water he shoves himself into the corner and acts scared of me! He has no health problems that I know of and he is fine otherwise. How can I fix this issue? -

My Pekin duck is about 8 weeks old and when I reach down into his brooder to refill food and water he acts very afraid like I'm going to hurt him and he shoves himself in the corner and does the peep/quacking thing. Could someone please help me figure why he is doing this? -

I don't have one, and had considered making one. I found some great instructions to make one that's homemade. What I decided to do that has worked like a champ is to use an old crockpot. I have a hen that I purchased from our local farm supply on March 3, 2013, as baby chicks. On July 13 I found two eggs in the brooding box.
