Thanks for the Box post .. I thought the 12" width was a little too much . Reason for asking the question . The last batch I made was 8' x 24' x24". I do not use wire on the sides .

Question for anyone that wants to answer . Looking for proper measurements for Peacock Carry Box . I have thought maybe 12 " x 24" x 24"

We here in Michigan have not set any Eggs yet . This week is the first warm weather we have had . We have found that our best Marans are not the early hatched ones '

Hello Tom , slowing down in old age . Weather has been terrible here lately.

Have you ever had one of the heavy Plume eggs hatch . I have not.

These chicks appear to be Male. In the USA we do not use the term French Marans unless they are imports from France

Tom , But they had real good type . Seems as though they all have something wrong with them

Tom , Do you remember your first Marans that you posted a picture of on here ?

Here where I live I like for the young Fowl to at least live through one Winter before being used for a breeder.

I have found that if you use a small female chicken Marans as a breeder that likely that the off spring will be on the small side. Also that the early hatch Fowl will tend to get larger.

The wire box has to have a top or they will be all mixed up.
