    LOL....Alfalfa, um no, my allergies would go crazy. Second cut hay, mixed with some straw, to cut costs down. All seem to do well. :)

    I have chickens and ducks. For the chickens, I have this unfriendly contraption, a pain to fill, as you need to fill it upside down, perfect for summer, cumbersome for winter refills. I also have the "dog like" blue bowl, for my ducks. Even in the winter, lol, they seem to fill it with mud...

    Hens or roosters. Also guess breed?

    I have Marans and they have feathered feet. Mine have a bit larger comb than this one. Thinking it is a mixed breed. Probably start laying late, about 6+ months, and if a Maran, will lay dark brown eggs.
