    Humidity in LG at 40%

    Hi! I am not an expert, but what I did was add sponges. I then cut a straw the same size as the hole on top of the incubator and used a syringe to add warm water to get the humidity to where I wanted it. This helps that you do not have to keep opening and closing the incubator to add more...

    Do I need to intervene?

    Its been 17 hours since a chick has pipped. I see his beak and some movement still but he is not peeping anymore. It has been seventeen hours and the membrane is white and dry. What do I do? Should I intervene and help this little one out, or wait it out and see if he can do it on his own...

    Help Please! Day 23, no chics, no pips, just cheeps

    I am no expert, but I do know after reading a lot on here, usually everyone agrees to give it time. Some I guess hatch out ready for a football match, and others take a little more time finding their feet. Wishing you well!

    Thank you so much for the fast replies. I just didnt want him hurting the other eggs that are slightly pipped. I will leave him in there if you all feel that he would be better off, and ofcourse I dont want to comprimise the rest of the hatch. After all, he does need a friend! lol!

    I just had a chick born and it is knocking around all the other eggs...he/she is very active...I thought they slept? Anyways, do I take the chick out or let it run wild in the incubator knocking around the other eggs? Please let me know!

    Congrats to all that have chicks hatched! love the pictures! I can hear chirping...but after twelve hours we have no pips.....How long does it take?????? I have been up nearly half the night waiting........

    How long is too long?????

    I can hear peeping coming from the shells and that started about 12 hrs ago. I am wondering how long it takes from the first time you hear them peep inside to when they start to pip? How long is too long? Thanks for any advice!

    Congrats to those who have chicks starting to hatch....none of mine have started as of yet. Day 21 is today! Please, please please!!!! I cant sleep and keep checking every five minutes! It's been a long 21 days! Please all post pics of the new arrivals!

    Officially in "lockdown". I am a couple of hours early as we have a birthday tonight! I did put four under my first time broody hen two days ago, one color of each silkie! I am so super excited! Good luck to all of you too!:weee

    Mine are due to hatch between the 31 and 1 of November! Yeah! Hatching buddies! I have ten silkie eggs! I think two are not going to make it! Mine are silkies! We all got to post pics after they hatch!
