I figured out that there was no simple answer. I just let him have supervised access to her and see how she reacts. She hasn't started laying yet so I know she's still too young. Maybe after she has been laying for a month or two I will be able to leave them together.
She's about 6 weeks old here and actually has the spots for which she is named. The first time she went through a full molt, almost all of the spots were gone. "You thought you'd give me a cute name ? Well now it's an ironic one; take that !"
