    Keep the wind off your birds!!

    I'm using 20 mil vinyl from Joann fabric. It is 54" wide, very clear, and comes by the yard. We have very high winds here, and 6mil plastic doesn't last a week in the winter.

    They all seem to be hardwood here, in CNY. I'm pretty sure the PNW is far milder than we are here.

    Any home brewers out there?

    Regarding Faverolles; be careful. I have two hatchery faverolles, that while not mean at all, are extremely forward girls. Choose carefully! Rather than hatchery birds, there are many good breeders here that would probably help you with this. I applaud your care and compassion in this situation...
