Anyone have any SQ Silkies for sale? Or Coronation Sussex pullets or hens? Or, Lavendar Orpington Hens?

Nope, but I STILL have one white silkie roo that I'll give ya for free. (he's dual purpose...signs the egg song and crows)

We went to the fair last year to check out the poultry. I was not really impressed, alot of silkies and other banties, but not much for other breeds.
A better show to attend would be the Yankee Fall classic, not sure of the date, should be in Oct.

I went and posted pics of some of the birds. The dels were crap. Other nice. They have the LF for part of the fair and then the Bantams for the other part. I expect to go Opening day. Someday I'd like to set up a table for the ALBC.

I released the last six chicks (now nearly eight weeks old) from the chick pokey into the general population yesterday, as they were spending all their time jammed up against the pen door trying to get out anyway, and they're now big enough to hold their own. It's been a pretty boring integration featuring the expected "get outta my space, kid" pecks but no real aggression. The SLW is a bold little wench - she parked herself in the midst of the big girls on the top bar of the roost and refused to move despite my smallest BO's taking swipes at her. When I checked them before I went to bed last night, the other five were snuggled up with the SLW, and the big girls had given up trying to boot them.

One more integration to go, the 6-month-old BO/Cochin cross I'm getting from Muggsmagee at our chicken meetup next Saturday, and then I'm done for the moment. Really, I am!

I did my integration last week - 8 week olds (I think..or 7) in a dog cage in the coop. Only left them in there for a week and then risked letting them out. They did fine! Little squabbling at roost time but other than that no hassles. My little ones also take a try at jumping up to the high roost but the other ladies aren't having that. I peek in the morning and all five little ones are on the bottom rung.

The large fowl are in the first half, then the bantams are in during the last half.
