I have found a page stating that both Mh (Mahogany) and Di were found in some Buff Minorcas

Di and ig are two different genes that dilute gold to a cream/lemon color. I do not know if they react differently to Mahogany. The chicken calculator thinks that either one, plus Mahogany, can make buff in the coloring of a chicken (for example, "red duckwing" with Mahogany but "buff duckwing" when I add either Di or ig/ig)

I felt like your writing was easy enough to understand, but it is a bit informal in style (as if you are just having a conversation with anyone who wants to read it.) If you want a formal scientific tone, you probably need to work on it some more. But if you just want to be understood, then at least to me it seems to be working well enough.

Buff Minorcas do look a lot more red than say Buff Orpingtons...

I mainly just want to be understood, but also want to get better at writing formally. There are some parts where I try to be more formal, but I'm not the best at it... It's a fine line for me between being boring and formal (or at least in my opinion!) I want it to be entertaining to read, but not too entertaining....

A chick hatched this morning!!! It has a pea comb(?) and a white beard I can't tell if it's barred or not, yet, as it's head is VERY light-colored. Its body is a very light grey, which is weird. I've never hatched a chick like it. The body reminds me of a lavender chick but darker. Maybe blue? It has some reddish cream feathers and its legs are pretty red (Mh?). No clue where it got the possible blue genetics... 4 more eggs to go with two that are pipping!

Chick #2 has black down and black toes with a walnut? comb. I'm guessing walnut because of how chunky it looks compared to obvious rose and pea combs. It looks like a BYM Ayam Cemani...

Chick #3 has black down and black toes with a single comb, that looks like bacon I'm probably not going to keep this little guy unless he shows some amazing qualities...

Chick #4 has a rose? comb with black down and white teardrops near their eye. She also has white toe tips and a white "collar." She's a very tough little thing and launched herself into the tub that contained her siblings when she was only a few seconds old!

Chick #5 has a rose? comb with black down and a white diamond on their head, indicating barring. The little one also has muffs! (Not me hoping it's a rooster...)
