    Chicken and newborn chick attacked last night

    Mama and chick doing great and I ended up doing nothing! I do scoop her and baby up at bedtime and put them in barn in carrier so protected from other chickens! All black hen with total white chick, I'm thinking its not her baby! Lol, she believes it is do that is all that matters Happy chickens!!

    We've had our broody hen sitting on one egg for a while, and honestly didn't think it would hatch. We had her in a pet carrier that we locked at night on a low ish shelf in the coop. Last night a racoon got in and was rolling the crate around and low and behold the chick was born last night too...
