OMG my boyfriend also has to put up with my love for chickens. He actually has been more into helping me with the birds so now hes more involved with feeding and giving them treats. I think he starting to love it as much as i am but doesn't admit it.:p
I feed my chickens layer crumble mixed with diatomaceous earth (2 times a month) mixed with oats and probiotics (2 times a month). So far what ive been, this keeps my chickens healthy and happy :)
