Buffy is growing. My son loves her!

I don't think my coop could fit 5 chickens though. :( Maybe I can find someone local who just wants one pullet in a few weeks?

I already have 3 full grown chickens. I'm planning on adding her to the flock. Should I get another as a litter mate with her? I was told by the feed store that one would be fine, as long as she would eventually join a flock.

I got my first buff Orpington chick today. She's very cute. I think my son is in love. We named her Buffy. :)

Well, she's gone. :( We buried her in the front yard under the big doug fir. I've wormed my other chickens, just in case that was the cause. Whatever it was, I hope it doesn't spread to the rest. Whatever it was, it really debilitated her very quickly.

No poo that I can see. When I tried to look for an egg, the rest came out, kinda watery.

I'm not sure what caused this, but I think I will take the precaution of worming the rest of my chickens.

Nope. She won't eat the feed mixed with warm water or the salmon. :( She actually looks pretty bad, she's not standing up, just laying there listlessly. :( It's horrible how they can go from perfectly fine to half dead in a day!

Ok, I put the glove on, felt around inside her, and no egg! (None that I can feel anyways) I've got her in the tub now, with a small heater to keep her warm. I have some canned salmon, should I try that? or go out and get some tuna? No, she has not been wormed.
