Got home this afternoon to this odd bubble. not sure if it’s discharge or bag of water starting to show.
Not sure if you can see it very well in pics but not to be gross it looks like a snot bubble.
No more discharge today. Her mood has went back to more normal today. Here’s a rear shot.
She still wouldn’t let me feel along her tail or udder. But they do look to point more out to the side than before. I know she’s gotta be getting close. So hard to have patience and I know I’m gonna just...
Hi all! I am sort of new to goats since we got our first doe back in April 2019. Got our brother and sister pair in November. We waited a bit too long to castrate the billy and now are anxiously awaiting baby or babies from original doe- Chewy I’ve been trying to read up and learn as much as...
Ok thanks for the info! She had been pretty hands off with me over past few weeks. Barely let me touch her but I’ve noticed yesterday and today she’s coming to me and letting me pet and touch for a little bit before walking away again. Gonna try feeling her tendons like everyone says to and...
Ok so I am fairly new to goats and have a very pregnant doe. We started with one doe then got a brother and sister pair so she had friends. Apparently the buck bred our first doe before we got him castrated. So now we are expecting. We got the pair in late November and assume they need not long...
I haven’t bothered with any bigger birds since the original flock. Only kept the silkie/frizzle breeding going. They are the calmest gentlest sweetest birds I’ve ever seen. Our beautiful white silkie if grandma to all the younger ones. Just had her and her daughters hatch another 9 chicks...
I absolutely LOVE silkies!! We have several now after starting out with just one. She has hatched several batches of eggs now and is the BEST broody and mom you can ask for. I don’t have to do anything but provide the right food and shelter and she does the rest. They come running to me for...
Wow that’s absolutely incredible. I don’t have a smooth feathered roo but they aren’t around our rooster as he is their dad. Only one rooster in our flock. Thank you all for the advice. What’s the best method to re introduce the other chick that is healthy? The hens ran it out the same day the...
I had no clue there was a double gene like that! It’s very possible since all my breeding birds are sizzle, frizzle or silkie. Sadly the little thing passed away over night. I am sad but glad it’s not struggling or suffering now. I have two older hens that hatched last year that lost almost all...
We had a bunch of silkie/frizzle eggs hatch with broody hens. The majority hatched about a week ago then had one more hatch a couple days later the hens rejected it as well as another that got stuck out of the pen for a bit. The last one hatched is struggling badly. We brought the two inside...
