After researching her symptoms, I have concluded that my hen has botulism. She is still holding her head up so I am hopeful that we can still help her. Does anyone have any suggestions for remedies?
Just went out to visit her and she is sitting inside of the coop with her left wing stretched out. Also, her comb seems to have some discoloration on the tips.. seems faded and one tip is black. Does all of this mean anything to anyone? Thanks!
Our leghorn has not been doing well lately. She is still laying eggs and eating and drinking but stays inside and does not seem to be able to walk very well. We have inspected her for injury but seems to be fine. Any suggestions??
Anyone have some good suggestions for treats at 3 weeks?? The only one I am aware of is yogurt.. which they love. Can you feed them insects at this age?
I know that I'm being silly but I don't have a local source for organic feed. I would need to order it and I'm worried that it might be delayed somehow in transit. My local feed store only sells starter with antibiotics.. is that o.k to use? I would prefer organic but I don't have many options.
I have five babies shipping on March 15th from my pet chicken. I've read horror stories of the chicks arriving early and I just want to be prepared in case that happens. How long will organic starter chick feed last? Is it too soon for me to order some and store it until the chicks arrive...
