I'm in Sharpsburg/Peachtree City area in Georgia. All the feed and scratch looks fine but I've trashed it all and got new feed. They have two huge runs attached to their coop. One covered and one uncovered but they don't free range. I did see some diarrhea. I'm treating with Corid now too...
Help! Last night one of my orpingtons didn't go in to roost. She was just sitting outside on the ground. We checked her and put her on the roost. We couldn't find anything wrong with her. This morning she was dead. I have 16 hens and now half of them seem "off" this morning. Very slow...
No the nesting box is lower but I can manually move her every night up to the roost. Hopefully she'll catch on. We've been predator proofing today and we did put a net apron around the entire coop and run. Fingers crossed! Thank you for your help
This morning I went to open our coop to let the girls out into their run and found one of my brahma pullets dead in the middle of the coop. (9 weeks old and pretty big) My other 3 pullets were fine and the 12 hens were fine. She had blood on her face and beak. Her head and neck were soaking...
I am so sad! I never thought Mrs. Owl could be a rooster! I am posting pics of the 2nd one now in question at different angles. I am hoping maybe it was a case of mistaken identity caused by poor coop lighting??? It really is quite small in size compared to the other one!
This pic was taken the day I got them, May 17. So that puts them somewhere between 7 and 8 weeks. I have other Eggers though, some stayed small and some are larger.
