    They are healing. :) We suspect it was the bedding causing the problem - as we had switched types (to a very fine straw) just when it started happening, and everything else had been the same care routine for a couple weeks.

    Nope, not from the door. One of them now has an open wound there after last night. I think they must be biting at it.

    The damage is on both sides, so I don't think it could be from rubbing while they sleep. Maybe they are scraping it on the door frame going in and out if they squeeze through side-by-side?

    I thought I'd add some pictures to the Chantecler page, since I have some good shots of our partridge birds. I can see where to add reviews, but not how to add to the gallery. What am I missing? Many thanks in advance.

    Got her with a mixed lot (mostly easter eggers) but she is the only one with this colouring. She has white earlobes. Not sure of egg colour - possibly olive.

    I would be surprised if it is dwarfism, she is growing in line with the other Partridge Chantecler chicks we bought. She is only subtly different at a glance, because her beak slopes down more quickly.

    Yes - it doesn't take much to send the scattering or flying in all directions.

    Cushion combs is what they are supposed to have - they look on track so far, though I've only had birds with pea combs and singles to compare. They are smoother than the pea combs. I actually found a thread FULL of photos at different ages - which is what I needed...

    All of them. The dark ones have the same barring - it just didn't show well in the photo.

    There are 13 of them and they don't all look different. They all have the same type of comb, they all have that barring down their bodies, wings backs and tails. Apart from the two white ones, and one or two with a different colour under the neck, the barring is over light brown, or dark brown...

    I am confused by your reply, do you mean that none of these look like PC's? Edited my post for clarity. As I said, the lady bought them as hatching eggs, she didn't breed them herself.
