    I searched. but came up with no great answer in the results... I bought 2 show quality Buff Cochin yesterday. What is the best height of a roost for them? They are 10 months old and pretty darn big. Bonus, the hen laid an egg when I got her home :) Loving them already, they are my first pair.

    I've waited almost 3 months for these eggs. They are a mix of two top breeder lines. Rebuilding a flock after 3 years without chickens, these are my primary breed.

    That is the exact same one I use. I have two of them, both always very accurate.

    I I should clarify, I use a store bought thermometer/hygrometer from Walmart, not the flimsy one that came with it.

    I have a FI incubator. The built in thermometer is WAY off. I have seen repeated posts of the same complaint. Don't trust it. I only use inside thermometers and have good luck.

    I was worried I would have to drop out of the hatch-a-long. I am buying eggs and the girls were not laying :( but late last night the breeder contacted me that I can pick up eggs this week!!! WOOT I'm setting Buckeyes and so excited.

    Have you tried the Missouri Chicken swap pages on facebook? Roosters move pretty well on there, especially if you are in the south of MO.
