The splint has been OFF for almost 2 weeks! It was on for almost 2 weeks! I had no idea how long to leave it on (I asked and very few people responded), and the advice I got was to leave it on for 2 weeks, so that is what I did! She can not walk at all.....The leg that was hurt stays out...- Suebrose2000

I don't think she is going to be able to walk again! I asked this before and I need to ask it again, but what is the best way to put a duck down? I haven't given up yet, but I don't want to prolong suffering and if she can't walk I will have to put her down! Please give me some advice...- Suebrose2000

Thank you! I took the splint off today. The bone seems to be healed but her leg is wonky and she can't walk......We first removed the splint and put her in water and she really enjoyed it. Swam around, moving her leg, drinking, eating peas,,,acting like a duck! But out of the water she...- Suebrose2000

It's been nearly 2 weeks and I think I may take the splint off in a few days and start some water therapy! I will let you all know how it goes!- Suebrose2000

I took the splint off and put her in the tub and let her move around in there a bit! She was moving her leg at the top so that's good! I put the splint back on, at first I made it too tight so I had to redo it, but I think I have it good now! So I will leave it alone for a while and see how...- Suebrose2000

2 days ago a neighbors dog grabbed one of our pekin ducks and took off with her in it's mouth! We saw it happen from inside the house and it was awful! What could have happened?
We found two Pekin Ducks. My husband and son went and got them today. I am not sure how old they are, but the guy said that they were under two.I wish I knew there ages. One looks younger than the other and not fully grown. He said they were both female but I don't knopw how he would know...- Suebrose2000
