Improvise a see-no-touch setup in the coop, so the chicks can grow up in sight of the bigs. If the coop has a second doorway, extend this set-up to include part of the run. Since your chicks will outnumber the hens, I think you’ll have a good outcome.
Yes, get some oyster shell. I just put it on the ground in a little pile and they eat it. Or put it in a bowl, but don’t mix it with their regular feed.
If an egg breaks, they will eat it. Thin shelled eggs, or eggs dropped outside are more likely to break.
It’s always a good idea to supplement with oyster shell.

We lost internet, so I didn’t post. Storms passed just south of us, sirens went off, it rained like crazy. We got 4 1/4” rain over 2 days. News showed scattered damage from Lamar, the closest town. Tree limbs, flooding, roof damage. Large area no power. A tornado siren snapped off!
