It's all dried up this morning and the chick is alert. However, there is still a red ball on the outside of the abdomen.....is this normal or is this part of the chicks insides that are stuck outside? Has anyone had a chick like this survive?

I know they are hard to sex but maybe someone who has more experience than me could help. Plus these guys are a little older so I thought maybe it was possible to tell I have one (not pictured) that is clearly a roo already but the rest I can't tell!

I'm selling some of our silkies today. The first one I'm pretty sure is a hen. #2 and 3 my husband wants to keep one of them because they have a white beak - I think they might both be roos though. If they look like they could be then I will add them to the sell pen! Thank you!! #1 #2 #3

As far as a goat proof feeder- we never found one. We had to leave the goats locked up while the chickens were being fed but then we weren't sure if everyone was eating. Nope! I double....triple checked all the wiring because I fully expected to find a break in it once I saw the chicks gone. None of the chicks were left behind or any remnants (they were only one bite) and I checked the yard in case the creature dragged some away but didn't find any bodies.
