I have never cooked with either goose or duck eggs, I just know them to be very fatty/rich. No reason why they would not work in a recipe like this.Sometimes I lighten my batter by using half milk and half beer or soda water.
Good point. Hmmm. I'd have to block the 14" difference in the height....I hate to get something I can't use. I supposed I could resell it on ebay.
Thanks!
Suzanne
Hi, I made a similar run about 3 years ago our of PVC pipe and hardware cloth. A few things:
1. Mine is triangular shaped - it has never been toppled by wind not critter. We live in Michigan so are prey to possums, foxes and raccoons at the very least, as well as severe winds though we don't...
I made a nice city/stealth coop from a large size resin dog house. Works fine for 4 hens, made windows, easy to clean and disinfect, etc. I need/want to install an electric automatic door but the commercial ones I've seen are for much taller coops. I am electronically challenged and cannot read...
Good morning everyone!
I just got 4 hatchlings, purportedly Marans-Ameraucana mixes. My only experience is with Black Marans. I really liked the orange blaze on this one, and s/he has feathered yellow legs. I hate to think it's a roo. Since I took these pix yesterday a nice little peach comb...
Exacly right. No guns here. Otherwise, I would have no compunction in shooting it. However, I will live trap it and drive it out to the reserve kept by the University. It can fend for itself there.
LOL - Mine did the same thing with the mealworm jar. They are too far or too dead to hear that. If they don't come when I call, then they are gone. I was able to find some Araucana-Marans mix. chicks.
Thanks,
Suzanne
Thanks. I have been looking all day. I can't really go into other peoples' yards and many are fenced (for dogs and people, but not for chickens!). I don't think driving around will help much as hens are not likely to be in the street. I don't know where the possum is so I can't go after it...
Does anyone have experience with this?
I live in a suburban neighborhood. Last night a possum got my favorite hen and killed her. The other 3 ran off and I am wondering if they will ever return. It's cold and windy so I can't imagine they will survive long - especially with raccoons...
