All Right, here's some updated 7-8 Week pics. I'm thinking I agree with Donrae, I'm not seeing any barring. Maybe the father is not a barred rock after all....
His legs have a black wash down the front. Otherwise they're yellow. He's grey, with bright green eyes. Strange little guy!
Thanks everyone for your input so far! I finally found out from the previous owner what breed he is..............
Thanks all for the replies!
Here's an updated 5-6 week old pic. I'm pretty sure "she" is a "he"! But we'll see. (hey, that rhymed!) If so, his name's Pierre
Thanks everyone! Here's some updated 5 week old pics....They're still looking like pullets to me (I think!) Also, excuse the paint on the hand...I was out painting their coop
Rhode Island Red
Easter Egger
Barred Rock
Ameraucana
I got close ups of all their heads and bodies. I know it's a little early to be completely sure...they're 4 weeks old...but i thought maybe some of you amazing sexers would have an idea =D Of course, they're all supposed to be female.

Well, those are pretty good signs she's a he. How long do you think until I know for sure? We can't have roosters since we live in a subdivision. We'd have to re-home him
That would be sad if she was a he! Since we "rescued" her. Could it be that she's older than 4 weeks? Idk...this is my first time!
Kitten6566 - I'm not sure if she's a Barred Rock. We have a BR and she looks nothing like Esmeralda.
CluckyCharms - thank you! We sure love her coloring and her eyes
We got her from a friend of ours and aren't sure what she is. Any help would be appreciated! She's 3-4 weeks (maybe even 4 wks) old. And yes, she has bright green eyes!! (Thus the name...Esmeralda =D)
Haha that's so great, and gives me so much relief that I'm not the only one experiencing this!! It is pretty funny to watch now that i know everything is okay
Hey all,
I have a newbie question for you! My 2 1/2 wk old chicks are in a brooder in our house. All of a sudden they've started flying around trying to land on each other! One of them does it the most, she almost tries to stand up tall and starts flying around and at the others. It's like...
Well, we got the baby chick and just stuck her in the brooder with everyone else! She seems to be doing just fine. There was a little pecking on her part but not much at all. She's eating and drinking so that's good! We have no clue about what breed of chick she is so we'll see about that...
