Haven’t started laying yet, they are just about 5 months. Those 2 in question have the more developed comb/wattles so maybe they will lay soon 😁🤞🏼 They are in their own pen/coop with a stunning young Ameracauna cockerel so I will definitely know when they start.
Yes I agree, I wasn’t questioning if they were pullets but more their coloring.. sorry if I wasn’t clear. I probably explained better inside my head 😂 5 of them look like the “typical” welsummer, but 2 are colored a bit differently. I was wondering if they were silver duckwing welsummers...
I just purchased some lovely welsummer pullets today, and two of them are a bit different.. I’m still learning and I’m not sure if they may be the silver duckwing variety? Or what say you? I can try to get better pics tomorrow, they were a bit skittish in their new home.
You can see in the...
I actually got rid of all of them since I didn’t need so many cockerels with a relatively small backyard flock 😬 I wish I could see how they are turning out! I’m not even sure if the guy was planning to butcher 🙃 I didn’t ask questions.
Thank you for replying! Hmm I guess I wouldn’t be upset at that.. I do already have multiple green layers 🙄 and wanted some more dark brown lol. Oh well, we shall see! Mine are just about 7 weeks or so, so I have a while yet.
I wonder if it was supposed to be an olive egger that was a legbar...
So interesting that I found this thread, I have the same situation going on. I bought 4 “welbars” last month.. one passed early on so I have 3 remaining. One has developed a crest just like yours! Do you have any updates? Does that one happen to be laying yet? So curious to find out!
Thank you, yes that is what I’m thinking too. At least all the pullets I bought separately are actually pullets 🤦🏻♀️😅 I feel like all 5 of these I got to go under a broody are going to end up boys ugh
So I’ve posted about some of these before, but I have new pictures and a couple more babies to ask about. I’m pretty sure at least 4 out of the 5 are cockerels 🙄
So they are now 10 weeks old, I haven’t heard any attempts at crowing but they do bicker quite often and “stand off” to one another...
Oh gosh who else?? Are you meaning the white-ish one? Hopefully you don’t mean the speckle-y ones 😩 lol
I know that white-ish one appears to be a cockerel as well.. that one was supposed to me an Easter or Olive Egger?
