Don't get me wrong I love my pure breds but I got 2 mix breed chicks from a neighbor and one just started laying and as it turns out she's an Olive Egger!!!! Hope the other one is too! Pic of them is my avatar. The dark one is the Olive Egger. They are very friendly, have great personalities...
I got my RSL at 1 1/2yrs and they lay very large eggs as well. They came from a very reputable breeder that was moving and had to cut down her numbers. They don't seem to be in pain however a couple do suffer from cysts in their feet. Breeder had spent $500 to have them removed from one hen.

The pics aren't great I know but the "blk" chick isn't all blk. body is silvery grey. She just sent me picks of mom and dad. Mom is a blue and dad is a silver partridge
