    External pip for all. That was as far as they could get. There were too many legs and wings in the way for them to chip further. I tipped one out bum first. :D. Very cute

    Hello again. So, of the 13 eggs i took from my duck, 10 were viable, and they all hatched. Yay! It ended up being a staggered hatch, over 9 days (Silly ducks laying in someone else's nest). :) However, I had to help the last three ducklings out, and I think they were the wrong position...

    Thanks, one more hatched this morning. :) So you dont think this is a first time mother issue? Next year she migh be the same? That would be a pity. Now the question is, how to i stop her sitting? She is taking newly laid eggs this morning to sit on. :th

    Well, I set up two of them, and the answer is 27, plus two turkeys. but only for the first week. I've had to upgrade now, as their appetites grow as fast as they do. Worked great, thanks.

    Update, she attacked the third hatchling yesterday evening and made the poor thing bleed, so last night i cobbled together an incubator and stole her remaining eggs. Two more hatched over night, so i feel justified. All ducklings are doing fine. And i am learning how to incubate ....:D

    Thanks, that's helpful. Ducklings are usually started at 22%-24%, but 28% will probably be fine. My problem will be that the high protein can give them wing issues after the first week or two, so i am trying to think of a way to separate the food sources without a separate brooder. No luck...

    Actually, i thought it was a great idea, only i didnt find one where you can override the auto shut off. And i dont know if they get as hot? But can you imagine having that much brooding space? I dont know about anyone else, but i might just go a little overboard... :lol:

    The house would be okay for your three ducks but if you plan on adding more you will need to expand. FYI, Plan on more. No one tells you, but they are addictive little things. :D

    What gender are these?

    Well, i dont see a distinct drake feather, which should be visible pretty soon. Are all of them quacking? Or is anyone sounding raspy?
