    Post Pics of your Leghorns

I purchased 3 (the last 3 pullets) "Amberlinks" from the farm store. I'm thinking 2 are leghorns - maybe 1 frizzle? Hoping it's not a meatbird. What do you think? [/IMG]

Purchased 3 amber links at the farm store--- not sure what I have? Leghorn rooster, frizzle, meat bi

As long as they're pullets and egg-layers I'm happy. I like a little variety. I'm just worried that one (or maybe 2) are meat birds.

Also the Amberlink has green tint legs, the "special" and the leghorn have yellow legs, the leghorn's comb is noticeably pinker and larger than the other two, the "special" has a yellow smaller comb and the amberlink's is virtually undetectable- very small.

So we purchased the last 3 pullets at the farm store, supposedly all Amberlinks. I believe I have 1 Amberlink, I leghorn (possibly a rooster), and 1 frizzle or meatbird? What a variety pack! Can you help confirm or any better guesses? [/IMG][/IMG]

6 week old flock of hens and 1 Orpington Rooster?!?

Sorry for the small pics, I don't know why the posted that way :/ His back end does look totally different than the little lady's! I thought the backend difference was just because she was a week older. His personality is much different too, he is always the first to investigate and pretty...

6 week old flock of hens and 1 Orpington Rooster?!?

Hi, Just wanted to share my flock. We bought all pullets and we are thinking (as of right now) only 1 is a rooster. Thinking the smaller Orpington is the roo, "he's" about 5 weeks old on the right, next to a 6 week old pullet. Let me know what you think. And here are a few more of the rest of...

Sore - raw under 3 week old Orpington wing

I cleaned her up and rubbed some coconut oil on her (funny to be dressing my live chick :) and the patch seems to be just bald - not raw. I think it may have gotten wet which was causing the crust? After she had the spa treatment she looks great :)

Sore - raw under 3 week old Orpington wing

I noticed a spot on top of my chick this morning and picked her up to clean it, I found a big raw patch under her wing. She seems to be "cleaning" the area and their doesn't look to be a cut or injury. I don't know if it's an infestation. I'm not sure what to do for her other than a bath?[/IMG]

    Hello from Mid-MI new chicks!

We are just getting our farm started with a purchase of 21 chicks. We have a coop ready as our brooder box in the basement continues to shrink :) As soon as the cold (haha) is gone they'll be ready to move to their outdoor house!
