    Chicken scalped by coop mates

    Hi and thanks for the repy. As an RN the first thing I grab is betadine!! I have the swabs. I did clean it and put triple antidiotic ointment on it. She is doing fine otherwise, but I keep her separated, even from her friends. Seems they want to pick at the scabs. Hope this other crusty stuff...

    Hi, My chicken was scalped by her coop mates and probably lost an eye:(. She is doing well..eating, drinking, etc.. My question is this: she now has an "over growth" of tan, crusty "stuff" surrounding the original wound and her (now) bad eye. It also is now beginning on her uninjured eye. It...
