Sorry i just realized this is a different thread... Some how I posted it twice.. so there is no follow up info on this one! Haha I had lots of replies on the raising chicks thread!
If you read my other responses, this is my third hatch this year. The brooder is more then big enough for twice as many chicks as are in it. Its a heat lamp..room temp at one end (they are in the basement) and currently 90 at the lamp end. Feed is a new bag that my 4 week olds started on a week...
No, no fluids coming out of them, no pasty butt. This is why I think it must have something to do with the temp loss during incubation. As someone said above... possibly organs didnt develop correctly or something. Have never lost a single chick that hatched out before.
They are in a large pen--large enough for 20 chicks. This is my 3rd batch this year and have not had any issues with the previous chicks. Lamp is at one end, far end is cool.
They have all been eating and drinking.. and were active hours before before I found them dead.
I have never lost any of the chicks I hatched in the past so this is tough!
We had a power outage 2 weeks in to incubation.. I lost a lot of eggs and wasnt sure Id get anything to hatch. I ended up with 10 chicks. One died about 30 hours after hatch.. the other I just found tonight (so about 4 days after). They seemed to be healthy, no issues. Do you think the power...

Pullet or roo? Leaning toward roo. 7-8 week old easter egger/orpington mix. Getting good at being able to tell wih other breeds, but the easter eggers get me!
Im thinking this guy is, well, a guy haha thoughts? Supposedly a buff orpington/barred rock cross but could be rhode island red/barred rock instead. He seems rather upright and is pretty aggressive... keep second guessing myself though. Probably a tad to early. Hes about 5-5.5 weeks.
