I have lots of rabbits: Mini Satins-Red, Black, White , Otters Blue & Black. New Zealands, Californians & Netherland Dwarfs. We show and do sell some culls in the larger breeds for meat.
I give mine sticks from the yard and orchard to chew on and also pinecones.

Got up that Morning and put Homemade Sausage, Sauerkraut & taters in the crockpot.
Then, cooked a big beef roast, mashed taters & gravey to make manhattans. Also fixed boiled cabbage, corn and sweet taters. Chocolate cake for dessert! Had the family over and played cards.
Comfrey is a great plant I have been growing it for 10 years. I feed it to all the animals about once a week--also dry it and add it to the bunnies hay in the winter weekly.

I do not know about protecting chickens.

#2 Sometimes the babies are inferior and it is just natures way. They would have probably died anyhow. Did you see the babies? Were they are deformed?
I handle our babies from the moment they are born and never had any trouble.

If you are going use Wisteria you need heavy support it can bend metal.
I planted climbing rose on the front side and planted gourds, beans, peas.& cucs...on the rest.
I have Forsythia & Spirea bushes in my pens. Clematis Vine & Blackeyed Susan vine growing on the fence. They are doing fine. The vines provide shade and look nice. The Pheasants enjoy the bushes.
