I am also raising mealworms and am also at the darkling stage. Mine have oats and chicken feed as their substrate and I use a potato or apple for moisture. They eat everything but the skins.
I haven't seen any new mealworms yet but I expect them soon. My set up is very low key- 10 gallon tank...
I want to raise broilers and formulate my own feed to do so. I'd like to do it without soy or corn (haha, right?). I am looking at Black Soldier Fly Larvae and alternative grains like amaranth and sorghum. I'm going to be doing in in Hawaii so other possible feedstuffs would be coconut, papaya...
I agree with everyone so far. Change vets if you're unhappy with the care so far and make sure to bring your records so that they don't repeat anything. It could be lots of different issues. I'd also stop the supplements you're using until you know what the issue is and just stick to the pepcid...
Cats are more frequently sensitive to seafood flavors, if that helps. You could try a novel protein diet or an over the counter sensitive stomach diet in the brand you like.

Pet insurance is a great idea.
Ultimately, there may be other breeds that are a better fit if you're looking for a more happy-go lucky, first time dog.
Small meals are a good idea. You could leave food outside so he has more "free feed" access too if it won't attract the wrong kind of crowd to your backyard.
Sunday is rest day.
Any thoughts on the whole ingredients vs the EO? I've also put fresh and dried oregano out and they seem to eat it if the veggie scraps are slim that day. I'm sure it's less concentrated.
The man of the house is the chef. Tonight he wasn't hungry until late and there was a lightning storm keeping us away from our meal plan of burgers and grilled veggies. He made what I call "Ohio Hodge Podge" because he's from Ohio: boiled sausage, potatoes, cauliflower, onion, peppers, green...
4Hs and county fairs always have chickens being shown which might help point you in the direction of a reputable breeding source.
We also have poultry swaps in our area that have heritage breeds, you could look out for something similar.
