Moving ducks from coop to a pond

Hi. I have two young fully grown ducks, both boys. One is a huge white Peking duck, and the other is brown. They have been living with my chickens in the coop, and we have a large enclosed run for them. I don't have a pond at home and have been using 2 large basins changing water daily for them...

Can I give them rabbit and hamster food?

A friend had leftover rabbit and hamster food after her rabbit died, and gave them to me thinking I can give it to the chickens since chickens seem to eat pretty much everything. Is this safe for chickens? Not to use exclusively of course, but to include some in their regular food? Thank you!

Hmmm... It does look more like a faverolles. I'll take some pics and post later today. You have all been so helpful! Thank you!

    Rooster in the city?

It has pinkish legs. Lol when we brought these babies home, my daughter noticed the "funny" feet on this chick and thought it was "deformed". But it was very light yellow at first with a pink beak. After 2 weeks we've had them it started to grow out new feathers, and they are gray and white.

    Rooster in the city?

I thought silkies were smaller in size than other breeds? The one we have is the same size as our other sexlinks, except the legs and feet are different. I will try to take some pics when I get home from work later today.

    Better water setup question

Thank you. These are great ideas! We live in a warm climate with warm winters. So I actually want them to get into the water and enjoy it, but my concern is more with keeping it cleaner longer. We don't have a pond, but I am thinking of making a mini pond from one of those large containers they...

    Better water setup question

Hi. I am new to keeping ducks. We have 2 young ducks, and I am trying to come up with better water access for them. Right now I give them fresh water daily in two square containers large enough to accommodate them both, and they like to sit in them. I wonder if I can buy one larger container...
