We recently hatched 5 chicks, with eggs from red sexlink parents. Can you still color sex 2nd generation sexlinks? I have 2 white, 3 red. I assumed the 3 red were female. But looking at the difference in the combs and waddles, it looks like 2 red are roosters, and 1 white looks like a hen...

Thankyou. And thanks for the reassurance. Trying not to dwell on it for my son's sake as this was going to be his first. We will start incubating our next 12 we have waiting and hope for a better outcome

Unfortunately we lost it. Everything looked good and dry. Chick was chirping and trying to move its head out. It Pushed the leg and its head up but there was wet blood behind its head and it went limp. Soooo sad. But I thank you for your help. Just couldn't help feeling at 28 days something was...

We didn't plan this one. So we got another few eggs to hatch after this little one was out. However we expected it last Sunday. So we have been waiting to use the incubator If nothing else we will try to get some day olds, but i know theres only certain dates
