Her crop was mostly empty according to my daughter this morning when she let them out. They always have food in the coop. When she let the others out she then made sure this hen got food until she stopped and my daughter said it seemed pretty full (she said 80%). Then she made the hen go free...
Yesterday she was not doing the breathing thing. And when my daughter brought her in for her special omelet she ate it and then pooped similar to the 2nd one posted above. Then I gave her some layer pellets and she ate them very quickly.

My daughter had this happen. One would even escape the brooder and hunt her down. At three years old they still follow her around outside. They are great pets.
Sometimes hatchery birds are also so off SOP that they look like mutts. I have a hatchery orphington that is only 4.5lbs. Too big to be a banty, too small to be standard.
But either way she is pretty. Hopefully she lays a nice pretty egg for you too. :)
